A true story told in the third person. First published in 2012 one year after the experience.
 

—  What is PATH of THREE HUNDRED?  —

On the surface, the book is a sailing adventure...but I feel that I have gone much deeper than a mere story about an idiot [me] who takes off as a novice on a journey at sea...much deeper.

The story is real. All events in this book actually happened. Thus, a work of non-fiction.

However, most of the characters’ names, including my own, are fictional in order to maintain the privacy of a few individuals. And I will maintain the identity of the antagonists forever even if they attempt to call themselves out, which some of them have. The protagonists who have fictional names will be identified only if they give me permission and they all know who they are.

Telling the story this way enables me to write in the third person, taking my Self out of all the actions and allowing a new perspective on life to come forth. It was kinda wild writing about this dude who just took off into the wild with no freaking idea what he was getting himself into. But, I learned...I was humbled...and most importantly, I grew as a human.

This book is dedicated to all who seek Peace.

As the story is being read by an individual, it is my hope that you will be able to feel the journey of challenges for yourself and make it your own.

For perhaps many or all of us, there have existed people in our lives who tell us what we “should” or “need” to do. [My close friends who know me will tell you that those two words tweak me more than any other words. For me, the word “should” is actually a four-letter word beginning with “S” and ending with “T.” Think about it. When someone gets in your face, points their finger at you, and says, “You should blah, blah, blah!!” How does that make you feel?]

Sometimes, we may feel in our inner Being what we think is right, yet we listen to others and sometimes let them make decisions for us. That crap is still on us because we end up making the choice to do what others tell us to do. F that.

This story is about a man who finally decides to take off on his own for a time and listen to himself. His Inner Voice.

The journey in a physical sense is an open ocean, solo sailing adventure. Yet, as the main character Petah [me] experiences life along the physical path he has chosen, he begins to understand a certain way of being which had always existed in his core. He just didn’t know how to maintain the Way. It would drift away from time to time until he would see it again.

When the Universe says to us...

Ok, let’s try this again. Only this time, you’re going to go through something even more intense. Perhaps this time, you’ll get it.

Perhaps take the leap of Faith requested of you.

You will never know...unless you go.
